Video- Torey Krug Hit On Andrew Shaw

What do you think of the hit, no penalty on the play?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get a fine or a small suspension, but I don’t think he should.  Considering how low Shaw was, Krug was guaranteed to headshot him.  But, Krug did a pretty good job getting low himself.  He nearly succeeded in a completely clean hit.

At that speed, I don’t know what else Krug could have done to avoid head contact.  He went low, Shaw was lower.  And, it did look, considering how Shaw fell, that a good portion of the hit was through the chest as well.  If it had been mostly head, I think there’d be more spinning on Shaw’s part as he fell.  Instead, he ended up on his butt, sliding along the same direction as he was skating.

Yep, read one report this morning stating no more action against Krug.

Yeah, Shaw pretty clearly got the wind knocked out of him.  Good, clean hit.

By Torey Krug, of all people.

Makes Gallagher’s antics later all the more stupid.  And good for Krug then standing up to Gallagher, and not running away like Radulov then did a short time later.
