Is it safe to say 41 game sis not a enough?  Anything short of a lifetime ban is not enough?

What that puke is still doing in the league is an indictment of the teams that continue to hire him.

Suspension question: Does his salary still count against the cap while he is suspended?

I think that entire video could’ve just been on setence:

“The league is suspending Raffi Torres 41 games for being Raffi Torres.”

Exactly. He shouldn’t be allowed to play in the NHL. angry

What the league gave Matt Cooke was supposed to be the beginning of the end of these kind of hits.  That never happened in large part due to the lack of longer suspensions.  Hopefully 41 games now does send the message.

I’m in shock they did that.  Finally.  Maybe that’ll give him pause next time he goes for a check that’s gonna take a guy’s head off.

That would involve brain cells being present in Torres’ head.  If anything were going to give him pause, it would have already happened in one of the previous 28343284928309 instances he was suspended.

He’s going to come back, and he’s going to outright kill a guy.  And even then, he won’t care.  Because he’s Raffi Torres and he doesn’t possess the ability to think or care.

That’s a very specific number. You sure about your source?

Torres should retire before he’s forced out after he ends some actual hockey player’s career.

It was from Aaron Ward, he’s never steered anyone wrong on anything.

Can the NHL give him an 820 game suspension?  If not, then the next team that hires him should be hit with a $5mill fine the next time he offends.

Between this and the Kassian situation it seems the NHL might be sending an early message: time to reign some sh** in

Made me lol, well done.

I am also shocked the league did this, but in a good way. Gett Torres and his ilk out of the game. I hope San Jose keeps him off the roster, thereby effectively lengthening his suspension.

0.8 seconds after having the puck is late?

I agree. FINALLY the league did something significant. The MUST continue to do this. These types of hits have no business in the league and if they are allowed to continue will eventually leave to a death, paralysis or coma.

It’s amazing they missed another penalty that could have been called on that play, charging. Look at how far away Torres was when he began pursuit of that hit. If that’s not charging, I don’t know what is.
