I think the Canes’ journeyman goalie’s Cinderella story has just come to an end.

A well, well rested Tampa team awaiting a game 7 Victor. I’m no betting man but there’s no way Tampa doesn’t win the next series. Unless someone takes out Vas.

Kinda nuts that after all the talk about
Carolina upgrading in goal and favorable
comparisons versus whom Toronto went with instead,
Freddy Anderssen could end up missing the whole thing.

Meanwhile, the Rangers face Casey DeSmith (barely),
third-string Louie Domingue, Anti Raanta, and a third-string rookie whose
name I’m not going to try to spell on the fly.

When was the last time that happened?
Two full rounds of a team never facing their opponents’
clear number one goalie?

I will be really impressed if the Rangers can actually mount any semblance of an attack on the Achilles heel of the Carolina goaltending with over 25 quality shots on goal. Somehow, they just can’t crack Carolina’s team D in Raleigh and get close enough to test Rantaa, or his replacement.

Rangers seem to have a slightly better than average D, but not a great one. They leave a lot of quality shots from the opposition to be stopped by a phenomenal Igor.

Can’t see the Rangers winning in Raleigh.
