..NHL Now has George Parros on the show to explain how the NHL Department of Player Safety suspends players…

I’m guessing it involves pounding a 24 pack of labatts before making his decision… confused ..

My work computer won’t let me watch it, which is just fine…I know it’s probably not worth anyone’s time.

However, I don’t recall them putting out a video like this in the past, at least not this early.  Hopefully they are getting a lot of heat (deservedly) for the lack of work the department is doing.

His whole defense of no suspension on the Larkin hit is garbage “he didn’t hit him hard enough”, “he rolled off of him”, “it should have been a boarding penalty but no suspension”. Pretty much the same on the Zadina hit.

Personally I’d like to see them change boarding to an automatic one game suspension, minimum.

I couldn’t make out what he was saying through the animalistic grunting…

They will make up or selectively apply any
criterion or rationale for why a criterion doesn’t apply
or isn’t met in a given situation. And they will ignore other facts present and relevant criteria to avoid applying a suspension or minimizing a bad hit.

Hence the very very widely-shared dartboard justice comments
among fans of all teams.
