Video- Ball Hockey Gone Bad

from QMI Agency/Toronto Sun,

In a fit of rage Saturday, a member of Canada's national men's ball hockey team sent an official to hospital.

With Canada trailing 5-1, Justin Pender chased a Czech opponent across the rink with one second left in a quarterfinal game at the 2013 World Ball Hockey Championship in Newfoundland.

Prior to the scrap, Pender is seen jawing with a Czech player during a face off.

Two officials, and the Czech goalie, tried to intervene. But Pender continued to pound on the player, hitting and tangling up others in the process.

Watch the incident below (#24 in white is the Canadian and I have started the video when the incident begins)...

Look at that heart and compete level, he’d probably be a captain in the NHL.

In other news, International Ball Hockey has higher quality video than the AHL.

There’s a World Championship of Ball Hockey??? Really??? Is it for people who can’t figure out ice skates???

Seriously, that player needs to be prosecuted for assault and never be allowed to play organized sports again. And WTF was up with the crowd? Aren’t Canadians supposed to be the nicest people on the planet?

Canadians: Nicest people ever*

*until you put a hockey stick in their hand.

Okay, before you get your panties in a bunch, my Canadian friends (all 2 of them) agree with this statement

I wasn’t coming here to pour it on but then I watched it, holy sh*t Canada… one of your players goes apesh*t to where a goalie has to throw himself onto the guy to protect him… and you come over and STAND GUARD making sure no other Czech players come in first?  WTF?  IN the meantime two Czech and a couple of officials are getting beat on?

Clearly #24 isn’t the only one in white who is garbage…

Ban the entire Canadian team.  And quite frankly if charges are pressed against #24, charges need to be pressed against the rest of the guys in white on the floor as accomplices, because not only did they not act to stop it, they STOOD GUARD so it could continue…

I’ve been hearing about this video all day, and it’s so much worse than advertised.

Wow. That Toronto Sun article is…wow.

Are they seriously trying to defend this piece of sh*t?

And that voting section at the end of the article…is that a f*cking joke?

I mean, they realize this guy sent a ref to the f*cking hospital, right?

UPDATE: Terry Ryan, a fellow Canadian national teamer, said he supports what Pender did to the Czech players.

Okay, is it wrong of me to hope someone does something like that to Marchand?

Calling that a brawl shows how out of touch and biased the Canadian media can be when it comes to their own. That was an attack, an assault pure and simple. Pender’s teammates made certain it did not turn into a brawl.

The man should do jail time for it and be barred from organized sports for life. That the Czech player may have been a poor sport is no excuse for a physical attack, let alone one that vicious. I hope the linesman sues him.

Pender’s career stats indicated that he played for the ECHL Bakersfield Condors.  I don’t remember him at all in any of the Condors v. Wranglers games at all.  He was virtually a man in a boy’s league.
