A match penalty? No way. How some of these officials manage to keep their job is beyond me.

It’s close, but I will always preach caution over what might have happened.  It looked exactly like a headshot, close to the one that took Savard out. 

Bottom line, no one pays to see Belov play, people pay to see Giroux.  Protect the stars and don’t complete overreact, which I don’t feel it is.

No fornicating way was that a match penalty.  That was possibly 2 minutes at worst.

Said with difficulty typing as head was waving from side to side.

What in the world are you all looking at? Yes, it should’ve been a match penalty because the ONLY principal point of contact that Belov could’ve made on Giroux with the angle he took was the head. He grazed it slightly, mostly missing it. Doesn’t matter, the refs can call intent even if the guy misses the check.

The same thing the league was looking at when they rescinded Belov’s match penalty.
