With the Oilers sitting in 30th place again, out of the playoffs by the first week of December again and wrestling with the same mistakes and inconsistencies they’ve been wrestling with for almost 10 years, the mood in Edmonton is understandably sour.

“We don’t want the group to change in here,” said Nugent-Hopkins, when asked about trade rumours before Wednesday’s game with the Bruins.
“I can speak for everyone when I say everyone is happy with the group we have. We’re confident in each other, it’s just about being confident in ourselves right now. Being able to go out there and do it.
“We don’t want it to have to come to a bunch of moves and stuff. We have to change it right away.”
