The Short List

from Luke Fox of Sportsnet,
As the dust settles, we look at who remains without a contract. Here are the best of remaining free agents:
1. Jaromir Jagr. Yes, at 41 Jagr is probably too old to even be wearing shorts. Yet there the future first-ballot Hall of Famer is, skating in shorts, taking extra strides before games. He’s a freak of a nature, a power-play force, and a guy still capable of getting you 20 goals. A smart one-year pickup for a contender. “He definitely still wants to play, and there is some interest in him,” Petr Svoboda, Jagr’s agent, told The Associated Press Saturday.
read on and the players who did not make the Top 10 list are...
Hourable mentions
Forwards: Mason Raymond, Vinny Prospal, Peter Mueller, Steve Sullivan, Dustin Penner, Nik Antropov, Simon Gagne, Scott Gomez, Kyle Wellwood, Milan Hejduk, Alexei Ponikarovsky
Defencemen: Tom Gilbert, Douglas Murray, Marek Zidlicky, Ian White, Wade Redden
Goaltenders: Jose Theodore, Johan Hedberg

Do we need another article that references Tim Thomas as nuts and or crazy because of his politics? When Andrew Ference signed with the Oilers was it eco-nut or globla warming alarmist going back to the heart of the evil oil industry that lead the headlines? Didn’t see it.These labels really don’t help and it is shameful the way the media brands people nuts because they don’t like their opinion.
