The Pittsburgh Penguins Advance To The 2nd Round Of The Stanley Cup Playoffs

Jake Guentzel had 4 goals and an assist for the Penguins, Sean Couturier had 3 goals and 2 assists for the Flyers in an 8-5 win by the Penguins.

The Pens will meet the winner of Washington/Columbus.

The lack of Philly’s defense to ever cover a trailer in any of the goals they showed today was the reason they lost. It wouldn’t have mattered who was in net the way they were playing.I believe at least 6 of Pittsburg’s goals were into completely open nets by completely uncovered players.

Philly has all those young, supposedly-promising d-men and somehow they look even worse than DET’s mess of a d corps.  It’s genuinely something to watch a Flyers game and see how disorganized that defense is.
