from Jim Matheson at the Edmonton Sun,
Forget style points. All Patrick Maroon wants is two points.
Maroon cut to the chase before the first question about another close 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday night.
In Maroon’s eyes, it’s just win, baby, for the Oilers who dropped to 3-7-1 on the season.
“We can sit here and talk about what we have to do right but enough’s enough. We have to find ways to win hockey games,” said Maroon, who had a great chance to send it to overtime in the last minute but Penguins goaltender Matt Murray stopped him. “If I lift it or take it a little farther (outside the crease) maybe I score, but I have to bear down. Again, we have to find ways to win hockey games. There’s nothing else to talk about.”...
Can they win a game with no production outside of the usual suspects?
“I think you’ve answered that question,” said coach Todd McLellan.
RNH scored, but Milan Lucic and Kailer Yamamoto, his wingers, had one shot (Lucic).
Again, five-on-five it was even, but the Oiler special teams are killing them.
