Slow Trade Day

Boston and Columbus did make a minor trade today but other than that, nada.

The Olympic Trade Freeze is now upon us and lasts until Feb. 23rd at 11:59pm ET.

Then trades can happen until 3:00pm ET on March 5th so teams will only have 9 1/2 days to make moves.

We have five games tonight and ten tomorrow in the NHL, then all hockey eyes turn to Sochi.

KK of course will be around for all things Olympic hockey and I am actually looking forward to the games on the big ice.

Ah the excitement of salary cap NHL where trades are few and badly flawed pt system thanks to shootouts allow about every team playoff hope.

At least the 9 and half days post Sochi window will be make up a little for todays dud of inactivity.

The NHL should seriously consider expanding it’s rinks to Olympic size. Players have gotten to fast and to big in the last 20 odd years not to.
