Now the trade talk may heat up, knowing what team is in what conference may allow some teams to make a trade without fear of facing each other 6 or so times next year.

I’m surprised the PA did the right thing. Good for them.

To be re-evaluated after 2014/15 ??????
Maybe by then Lou Lamarillio will figure out a scheme by which the Devils never have to play a game outside of NJ ?

I was thinking about this too recently Paul. Maybe we can make a play for Jack Johnson seeing that Columbus will no longer be in our conference?

But they will be perfection, just a different division.

From TSN:
The divisional re-alignment would be as follows:
Western Conference
Pacific Division: Anaheim, Calgary, Edmonton, Los Angeles, Phoenix, San Jose and Vancouver.
Mid-West Division: Chicago, Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, Nashville, St. Louis and Winnipeg.
Eastern Conference
Central Division: Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Toronto.
Atlantic Division: Carolina, Columbus, New Jersey, N.Y. Islanders, N.Y. Rangers, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Washington.
The next thing is: will there still be home-and-home series with every other team in the other Conference?

The latest I heard SYF, the home and home is still the plan.

Wow, Ottowa (Murray/McLean) and Stevie’s TB in our division, along with MTL, BOS and TOR. Outstanding!
We’re going to be like the SEC. tougher comp makes for tough teams.

I’m shocked. For the simple fact that I thought that there was no way on God’s green earth that they would concentrate so many original 6 teams in one division. But God love ‘em. If I was rich, I’d move back to Michigan just for the hockey season.

Love it. Glad to be in a division of 7. Welcome west Winnipeg.

of course. that’s true. I guess it increases the chances of trade with them by a little? Bouwmeester in Calgary on the other hand…

Give it time, Timbits.
I look forward to a year with few super late night starts. I also like seeing Buffalo so often.

Haha - imagine that, HHD had a preconceived notion about the NHLPA that turned out to be counterfactual. In other news, the sun rose in the morning and set in the evening.

Central Division: Boston, Buffalo, Detroit, Florida, Montreal, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Toronto.
Looks like The D better get a big, mean winger before next season. Me thinks the Stache would fit in excellently.
