* Via Elias, the Bruins overcame a multi-goal deficit in the third period to win in regulation for the first time since Jan. 10, 2011 at PIT. The team also overcame a (one-goal) third-period deficit on Tuesday, rallying to beat the Panthers 3-2.
* Trotman, a seventh-round selection (210th overall) by the Bruins in the 2010 NHL Draft, posted his first career goal in his 25th game. “Very excited. I don’t think I could put it into words. It was awesome,” said Trotman, who played college hockey at Michigan’s Lake Superior State and had a group of family and friends in attendance. “It was surreal. I didn’t believe it at first.”
* Carl Soderberg (1-1—2) started the rally with his 13th goal of the season; he has 2-4—6 during a four-game assist/point streak. Ryan Spooner collected one assist to extend his point streak to five contests (3-3—6).
* Brett Connolly and Reilly Smith both added two assists. Smith recorded his 100th NHL point (36-64—100 in 199 GP).
* Tuukka Rask made 35 saves to earn his 33rd win of the season, three shy of his career high established in 2013-14.

Patrick Wiercioch scored the winning goal with 16.9 seconds remaining in overtime to power the Senators to their second straight victory and a split of their four-game season series with the Lightning (OTT: 2-2-0, TBL: 2-0-2).
* At 39-26-12 (90 points), the Senators remained three points behind the Bruins (40-25-13, 93 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference. Ottawa holds one game in hand, but Boston owns the ROW tiebreaker (BOS: 37, OTT: 33).
* Wiercioch recorded his second career game-winning goal and first in overtime.
* Mark Stone became the fifth rookie to reach the 20-goal milestone this season, and second on the Senators (also Mike Hoffman: 26). He ranks third among first-year players with 20-36—56 overall.
* Per Elias, Stone and Hoffman are the second pair of Senators rookies to each score at least 20 goals in the same season. The others: Alexei Yashin (30) and Alexandre Daigle (20), who both did so in 1993-94.
* Andrew Hammond made 28 saves to improve to 16-1-1 with a 1.80 goals-against average, .940 save percentage and two shutouts this season. He has allowed two or fewer goals in 15 of his 18 career starts.
* Kyle Turris collected two assists, giving him 22-35—57 this season (77 GP) – one point shy of his career high established in 2013-14 (26-32—58 in 82 GP).
. . . MILESTONE PERFORMANCES HELP PANTHERS KEEP PACE
Roberto Luongo made 31 saves – but fell 1:19 shy of recording a shutout – to pick up his 400th NHL victory and backstop the Panthers to a sweep of their three-game season series with the Hurricanes (a first in franchise history).
* At 36-27-15 (87 points), the Panthers remained six points behind the Bruins (40-25-13, 93 points) for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference:
* Luongo became the 11th goaltender in NHL history to post 400 wins; he is one victory shy of tying Chris Osgood for 10th all-time. Luongo leads all active goaltenders in wins, shutouts (68) and appearances (862).
* Jaromir Jagr registered 1-1—2 to also climb the NHL record books. With 721-1,077—1,798, he tied Ron Francis (549-1,249—1,798) for the fourth-most points in League history. He also moved within two assists of Adam Oates (1,079) for sixth all-time.
* Jagr has 5-9—14 in 16 games since joining the Panthers, including five multi-point performances. Overall, the 43-year-old forward has 16-27—43 in 73 appearances this season.
* Vincent Trocheck (2-1—3) recorded his first career multi-goal game and matched a career high with three points (also Dec. 2 at DET: 1-2—3).
* Aleksander Barkov (1-1—2), Jimmy Hayes (0-2—2) and Jonathan Huberdeau (0-2—2) also collected multiple points, while Brandon Pirri scored his 19th goal in his past 26 games.
* The Panthers yielded their first goal to the Hurricanes since March 27, 2014, snapping their head-to-head shutout streak at 214:14.
JOHANSEN, BLUE JACKETS MATCH FRANCHISE RECORD IN WIN
Ryan Johansen scored the tying goal with 3:43 remaining in regulation and added the insurance marker in the shootout to lead the Blue Jackets to their eighth consecutive victory, matching a franchise record set Jan. 6-23, 2014.
* The Blue Jackets improved to 12-2-0 in their last 14 outings. That includes a franchise-record eight-game road winning streak dating to March 6.
* Johansen extended his point streak to nine contests (4-8—12). He has two other point streaks of at least nine games this season, also Oct. 9-31 (5-8—13 in 10 GP) and Dec. 18 – Jan. 17 (8-8—16 in 13 GP).
* Johansen paces the Blue Jackets with 26-43—69 overall, setting career highs in assists and points this season.
* Battling the flu, Jack Johnson scored for the third straight game (3-0—3) – a first in his career. Elias says only two other defensemen in Blue Jackets history have recorded goals in three consecutive team outings: Bryan Berard in 2005-06 and Fedor Tyutinin 2008-09.
* Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 25 shots and both shootout attempts he faced to extend his personal winning streak to seven games, his second such stretch of the season (also Dec. 1-16: 7-0-0).

Islanders captain John Tavares registered 1-1—2, including his 35th goal of the season. He shares second in the NHL with 35-44—79 overall (78 GP), two points shy of his career high established in 2011-12 (31-50—81 in 82 GP) . . . Canadiens defenseman P.K.
