* Bobrovsky also was named the best goaltender at the 2014 World Championship after leading the tournament with a 1.13 goals-against average, .950 save percentage and two shutouts en route to capturing the gold medal (8 GP).

DRAISAITL LIFTS TEAM EUROPE INTO FIRST PLACE IN GROUP A
Team Czech Republic tied the game midway through the third period, but Leon Draisaitlscored at 2:06 of overtime to lift Team Europe to a 2-0-0 record and first place in Group A.

* Draisaitl scored for the third consecutive game dating to pre-tournament play. He powered Team Europe to its first win with a hat trick in the club’s exhibition finale against Team Sweden. Draisaitl then added an insurance goal for Team Europe in its tournament-opening victory against Team USA.

* Mats Zuccarello registered 1-1—2, including the primary assist on Draisaitl’s overtime winner. He shares the tournament lead with 1-2—3 thus far during the World Cup of Hockey 2016.

* “I think it’s quite an historic three days for this group,” said Team Europe head coach Ralph Krueger. “I’m just so proud of the way the players have come together in this short period of time, how they’re representing their countries on their arms and as a group how we’ve come together . . . I’ve never experienced anything quite like this as a coach in 25 years of head-coaching.”

REMINDER: TIEBREAKERS FOR WORLD CUP OF HOCKEY 2016
The top two finishers in Group A and Group B – following the conclusion of round-robin play – will advance to a single-game semifinal, where the first-place team from each group will face an elimination game against the second-place team from the other group. Winners of the semifinal games then will advance to a best-of-three final series.

The following tiebreakers will determine group rankings at the conclusion of the round robin:

Two-Way Tie
Any tie between two teams will be decided by the result of their head-to-head game.

Three/Four-Way Tie
Steps 1-4 will be calculated based upon ALL games played:
* Step 1: ROW (total regulation/OT wins, not including shootout wins)
* Step 2: Regulation Wins (total regulation wins only)
* Step 3: Goal Differential (total goals for minus total goals against)
* Step 4: Total Goals Scored (total goals for)

Steps 5-6 will be calculated based upon games played between tied teams only:
* Step 5: Goal Differential (total goals for minus total goals against)
* Step 6: Total Goals Scored (total goals for)

Team USA and Team Finland look to pick up their first wins of the World Cup of Hockey 2016 when they face rivals Team Canada and Team Sweden, respectively. A loss of any kind would knock Team USA out of contention for the semifinals. Team Finland, meanwhile, would stay mathematically alive but require help from its opponents in Group B.
