Adrain Dater of the Denver Post passed out some NHL awards last night...
Schadenfreude award: If the Avs fall to a lottery team again, maybe they will drag the Detroit Red Wings down with them.
Entering Saturday, the Wings remained outside of the top eight teams in the playoff race, looking ordinary more nights than not lately. Misery loves company, especially when it wears a winged wheel.
Definition of Schadenfreude per Dictionary.com- satisfaction or pleasure felt at someone else's misfortune.

Oh Dater, still wistfully wishing for the days when there was any sort of meaningful connection between his Avs and the Wings. Irrelevance must be painful, so we can’t be too surprised. Drag them down with them? You mean the team that just beat Vancouver getting dragged down by the team that is already in last place in the Conference?
Checking this morning, standings are as follows:
Detroit: 5th in the West
Colorado: LAST in the West
Oh, and how’d that O’Reilly negotiation go? See you in the playoffs, never.
