MONTREAL – Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced Thursday the acquisition of defenseman Bryan Allen from the Anaheim Ducks, in return for forward Rene Bourque.
Allen, 34, recorded one assist in six games thus far with the Ducks in 2014-15, averaging 18:12 of ice time per game. He recorded four shots on goal, 11 hits, 10 blocked shots and served four penalty minutes. He missed 14 games due to a lower-body injury.
Since he first joined the NHL back in 2000-01, Allen has recorded a total of 135 points (29 goals, 106 assists) in 716 regular season games. He scored five game winning goals. The 6'05'' and 223 lbs forward also served 837 penalty minutes and displays a +28 plus/minus differential.
