Mike Smith Staying In Edmonton

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oilers have agreed to terms with goaltender Mike Smith on a one-year contract through the 2020-21 season. The one-year contract is worth $1.5 million in base salary and up to $500K in performance bonuses, giving it an annual average value (AAV) of $2 million.

Smith, 38, appeared in 39 games with the Oilers last season, posting a 19-12-6 record, a 2.95 goals against average, a .902 save percentage and one shutout. He also played in one game in the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs.
