from Tom Gulitti of Fire & Ice,
Devils left wing Mike Cammalleri admitted today that he did not feel well initially after taking an elbow to the jaw from Dallas’ Jamie Benn in a 3-2 shootout loss Oct. 24, but didn’t tell anyone on the team about it in hope he could play through it.
Cammalleri didn’t miss a shift in that game and even took the Devils’ first shot in the shootout (which they lost 2-0). He then played in the team’s 3-2 overtime win the next night in Ottawa as well before informing the Devils he wasn’t feeling right.
He’ll be back in the Devils’ lineup tonight in Boston after missing six games with a suspected concussion.
“I just tried to get through it, maybe against my better judgment,” Cammalleri said. “I just tried to hope that it would get better, I would feel better and just try to get through it. I was lying to myself, probably.”
continued and some Ryane Clowe talk too...
