That right here is going to be a microcosm of BUF’s season Eichel scores but they lose 3-1 anyways.

He’s on an 82-goal pace compared to McDavid’s zero goal pace.
I guess we know who the winner was at the draft.

I didn’t catch any of the Sabres game but I did see the second half of the Oilers-Blues game and the Blues’ rookies stole the show. I believe they had at least one forward and two d-men playing in their first NHL game, so every break they had in the game the crew was in the crowd interviewing one of the rookies’ families that had come to the game to watch.
I also caught most of the Dallas-Pittsburgh game and Dallas looked really good. Whether that was aided by Pittsburgh coming out a little flat or not, I don’t know, but I do know it’s only one game…I think that team has some real potential if they stay healthy and everyone lives up to their billing. Niemi was unbelieveably solid, while Dallas was able to hold their big guns back (Malkin was incredibly frustrated and I only noticed him when he was complaining to the refs) even when they did get their chances Niemi had an answer every time.
