Is Tonight The Night For The Los Angeles Kings?

from Rich Hammond of the Los Angeles Register,

The Stanley Cup will be at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, polished, handled by a man in white gloves, ready to be turned over to the Kings for another summer of debauchery. But first, they need to beat the New York Rangers in Game 4 of the Final. The Kings lead 3-0 in the best-of-7 series.

“We've got the rest of our lives to see our friends and family, make sure they have tickets and all that,” Kings winger Justin Williams said Tuesday. “You have, usually, one chance – and this is our second chance – to do it, to win a Stanley Cup, to be remembered forever.”

There hasn’t been a Final sweep since 1998. Since then, only one team has even taken a 3-0 series lead. That was the Kings, in 2012, who beat the Devils in overtime twice then shut them out in Game 3.

Here they are again. After comeback, overtimes wins in Games 1 and 2 at home, the Kings beat the Rangers, 3-0, in Game 3 on Monday night and closed in on their second championship in 24 months.

Is it over tonight?

Pretty certain it ends tonight. The Rangers are an ok team, but LA is really just too good. Like annoying good and lucky in these playoffs.

I don’t think LA wins this one, because, you know, they aren’t elite.

Well we seem to enjoy drama in this town, so I figure unless Quickie throws another shutout tonight this one probably isn’t over yet.

I’d like to see it go at least one more game, so the Kings can win it at home.

Was hoping for a long series, but that probably wasn’t too realistic. So, win tonight, Rangers, so the NHL season doesn’t end until Friday.

Pretty certain it’s gonna be a tough one to close out - clinching games always are the hardest games to win.  But after three consecutive seven game series that went all seven games, I think the Kings want to get this done and over with as quickly as possible.

Finish it, Kings.

Duh!  How to unjinx that one…I haven’t eaten or shaved today, haven’t cut my hair in 6 weeks haha, there’s nothing left to appease the hockey G*ds other than the old standby of not watching the game and turning off all forms of communication :(
