from Joe Haggerty of CSNNE,
The Bruins are not “trying too hard.” It’s insulting to the many knowledgeable hockey fans in Boston to try and convince anybody that a team needing 17 minutes to get off a shot in the first period – and a team that could only muster two shots on net in the third period of a tied hockey game – is being sapped by wanting things too badly. This is a Bruins team that looks like they are slogging through the season right now, and seems to not enjoy playing with each other very much right now. They are much closer to being guilty of “not trying at all” after losing to a rogue’s gallery of meh NHL teams in Columbus, Toronto, Ottawa and Carolina rather than “trying too hard.” So let’s bury that alibi for losing for a while.
