from Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News,
The question now is about the fit going forward with Zuccarello, 31, an unrestricted free agent after making $4.5 million this past season.
It's a complicated equation beyond on-ice production and chemistry involving the salary cap and a conditional draft pick that was part of the trade with the New York Rangers.
"I think he was a big part of our success," Nill said. "We'd like to keep him here. We'll have to move forward and see what we can do."...
"This is my team right now," Zuccarello said. "We'll see what's going on. Obviously, I'm the kind of guy that when someone believes in you ... I usually like that. We'll see. I don't even know what they want here."...
While Zuccarello and his representatives will probably seek the security of a long-term deal, the Stars also have to address other contracts, including defenseman Esa Lindell, who is a restricted free agent.
