Don Cherry Stirring The Pot

Don Cherry on the college kid taking the place of another player on the Toronto Marlies.

Cherry just did numerous tweets on the topic again, but these will get the most attention...

But the dumb dumb media who never played the game, coached the

game wouldn't understand. Really, how could they?

I wonder if Ron MacLean and Elliotte Friedman, to name a few, fall into the dumb-dumb media group?

What, exactly, THE *#$%@& does “playing or coaching the game” have to do with the issue or him being a xenophobic piece of shit?

It’s incredible, he’s always going on about the pinko PC libs, yet now he’s railing against a signing because it might hurt some other players’ feelings.

Imagine telling a young kid that he won’t be playing because they have just signed a better player.  What kind of world would it be if that was allowed to happen?

Friedman’s good, but MacLean’s even more off his rocker than Cherry is at this point (not on this issue, just in a general sense). The stuff he says in his under-the-breath asides is really strange if you brush aside Cherry’s jingoism enough to concentrate on MacLean’s MacLeanisms. Stranger than what Cherry’s going on about, definitely.
