CALGARY, AB -- It is with deepest sympathies we advise that the mother of Flames’ President of Hockey Operations Brian Burke, Joan Sammon Burke, passed away peacefully today, Thursday April 3, 2014, in Vero Beach, FL. Mrs. Burke was 85 years of age.

A public visitation will be held 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday, April 5th at Strunk Funeral Home, 916 17th Street, Vero Beach, FL. The funeral service is scheduled for 2:30pm, Sunday, April 6th at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 500 Iris Lane, Vero Beach, FL.
