from Craig Morgan of The Athletic,
Coyotes president and CEO Ahron Cohen is no longer with the organization, multiple sources confirmed. Cohen had been with the Coyotes for nearly five years.
Cohen was hired in August 2015 under previous majority owner Andrew Barroway, serving as the team’s chief operating officer and chief legal officer. He was named president and CEO in July 2018, replacing Steve Patterson, who was named to the same posts in July 2017. Under Cohen’s leadership, the Coyotes enjoyed improvement in multiple areas, including ticket sales, attendance, sponsorship sales and TV ratings.
While there had been speculation about the futures of the coaching staffs and management staffs heading into this season, Alex Meruelo, who purchased a 95 percent stake in the team less than a year ago, gave John Chayka a contract extension in November and the coaching staff is expected to return intact next season, the final year of head coach Rick Tocchet’s contract.
