Blackhawks Defeat The Kings To Take Game 1 In The WCF

Final score was 2-1 and the game winning goal was scored by Marian Hossa.

LAK need to find more offense in a hurry.

Below, the big hit of the game, Dave Bolland on Mike Richards.

Some debate going on if the Bolland hit targeted the head.  What do you think?

No way LA wins this series. Bruins have more of a chance against the pens. It will probably be cawks v. pens.

Yet another year where I wished no one could win the cup. I’d rather have the Bruins and really wished the Penguins or Blackhawks couldn’t win.  Obviously, LA doesn’t have a chance.

Kings can’t beat the Hawks?

I humbly disagree. They won last year and basically have the same team. In my opinion, Quick looks like the best goalie in the league, and USA looks much better than Canada between the pipes for the Olympics, mainly because of Quick.

I know some people say their style is boring to watch. Well, their forwards finish their checks hard and crash the net hard. They actually knock people on their ass when they hit them, too.
That’s fun to watch, because we aren’t the recipients. I don’t know know what’s so boring to watch…that’s called playoff puck.

I’m no expert, but the Wings need that more than anything. How many opponents, especially d-men retrieving pucks, are afraid of Filp or Franzen finishing a hard check on them? None, because they don’t do it. Franzen needs to get angry and play like a big guy…I’m not going to quote “Mystery Alaska,” again. Wings need a top 6 forward beside Zett Dats or Abbey who make d-men more worried about the contact they are inevitably about to receive, than retrieving the puck.

I think forwards like Kopitar, Carter, Richards, and Williams have a nice combo of skill and grit that’s exciting to watch. It’s clearly effective too since they won the Cup with this team.

Bolland will not face discipline for his hit on Richards.
