BOSTON - Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced today, May 1, that the team has signed goaltender Jaroslav Halak to a one-year contract extension with an NHL cap hit of $2.25 million.
Halak, 34, has played in 31 games with Boston in 2019-20, compiling a 18-6-6 record with three shutouts, a 2.39 goals against average (T-12th, NHL) and .919 save percentage (6th, NHL). In his first season with the club in 2018-19, the 5-foot-11, 183-pound netminder made 40 appearances, posting a 22-11-4 record with five shutouts, a 2.34 goals against average (6th, NHL) and .921 save percentage (T-7th, NHL).
