Another Lost Season?

from Darren Dreger of TSN,

There is risk of the entire 2012-2013 NHL season being wiped out.

Now that qualifies as fear mongering, but considering how entrenched both the league and the players' association are with less than 10 days until the expiration of the existing collective bargaining agreement, sources on both sides are accepting the loss of another season as a possibility.

Negotiations remain in a stalemate - with no plan to resume formal talks.

The players are willing to give, but do so over time. And they aren’t interested in any ownership proposal that continues to push for an immediate correction.

Immediate correction=reneging on current contracts. I don’t think so. The owners signed the players to contracts. They dictated and accepted the terms of said contracts.

Pay up and shut up. The fans have had enough. And in the end, it is the fans that are going to pay the price. One way or another.

Lets Go Red Wings!!!!! In’13

The saddest part is losing another season for number 13 ( tree-nad-zet accent on nad.) to show his magic.

Agreed, bobinchico!

I asked this before, but no one responded. If there is no season in 2012-2013 what happens to the 2013-2014 UFAs/RFAs? Assuming there will be a season NEXT year do their contracts just get pushed forward a year or do they enter the marketplace on schedule. I admit to being really uninformed on NHL contracts and it could be that every contract is completely different, but I have been thinking that the brilliance of TICK TOCK is that he knew all along that there would be a lock out this year and was saving his nickles until he could spend them on assets of REAL value (i.e. next years free agents which are said to be a much more enticing group of talent).
Sorry if this is old ground but I look forward to someone humoring my ignorance.
