A Three-Year Deal For Rasmus Dahlin And The Buffalo Sabres

via the Buffalo Sabres,

The Buffalo Sabres have agreed to terms with defenseman Rasmus Dahlin on a three-year contract with an average annual value of $6 million dollars, the team announced Wednesday.

Dahlin, 21, tallied 23 points (5+18) in 56 games last season while averaging a career-high 21:36 of ice time. He led the Sabres with an average ice time of 23:26 over the final 19 games under coach Don Granato.

"His way to play was how I learned to play hockey," Dahlin said of Granato after the season. "But the thing I felt was that he trusted me as a player. He really saw what my potential was, and I felt comfortable playing out there. I wasn't thinking too much."

Buffalo drafted Dahlin with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He was a finalist for the Calder Memorial Trophy in 2018-19, when he played all 82 games and led rookie defensemen with 44 points (9+35).
