HEROES

Shayne Gostisbehere – The Flyers rookie emerged from his biggest slump of the season, during which he had no goals and one assist in six games, to score two goals in a 4-2 win against Tampa Bay. Gostisbehere has 14 goals in 47 games. Since the 1990-1991 season, there is one defenceman to score more than 14 goals as a rookie (Dion Phaneuf, 20 in 2005-2006). And, a reminder, Gostisbehere has done this in 47 games!

Brent Burns – While we’re on goal-scoring defencemen, the San Jose blueliner put up a goal and an assist in a 2-1 overtime win at Calgary, giving him 15 points (6 G, 9 A) in the past 13 games. Burns leads all defencemen with a career-high 24 goals, and 282 shots on goal, this season.
