The hurdle the top teams in the East face is getting past the fact that the only way to win long term is to gain the experience that comes with losing. Outside of Martin Brodeur, whose Devils will be lucky to win one round, and Dominik Hasek, whose health makes him about as dependable to the Senators as Beetle Bailey, no team has crucial experience to count on.
