from Scott Powers at the Chicago Sun-Times,
The passes weren’t always precise. The shots weren’t always accurate. The execution wasn’t always perfect.
The Blackhawks admittedly weren’t at their best Sunday. But when you’re rolling, you’re rolling, and Blackhawks rolled to their 11th consecutive victory Sunday, matching a franchise record set in the 2012-13 season, with a 5-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens at the United Center.
“We understand not every game is going to be perfect or pretty or whatever you call it,” Hawks forward Marian Hossa said. “The main thing is to find a way to win the game. If it’s ugly, we take the two points rather than play pretty and lose it.”
The Hawks took those two points and continued to be the hottest team in the NHL. They haven’t lost since Dec. 27 and improved to 31-13-4 with 66 points on the season. They’re second in the NHL in points and lead the second-place Dallas Stars by three points in the division.
