Alexander Radulov and Patrick Marleau are the only high-profile players still in the marketplace, and Marleau could follow Joe Thornton back to the San Jose Sharks.

The Canadiens also wanted to keep Radulov, but he chose to explore his options.

Intriguing players still in the marketplace:

1. Left wing Tomas Vanek: Scored 17 goals last season, and could net 20-25 on a contending team.

2. Defenseman Andre Markov: The assumption that he would return to the Canadiens hasn’t happened. At 38, he had 36 points and was +18 last season.
