I think the average size of the player is getting bigger. I think a lot of it is attributed to better athletes…better training. They start training at a younger age. Diets are better. There’s a lot more new education on nutrition…on the proper techniques for training. Having skating instructors, the big guys can get around the ice better than they used to. So, yes, players, on average, are getting bigger. But if you’re good enough to play in the league…if you’re smart enough…it’s not so much, for me, height…it’s strength. But you have to be smart enough and you have to be competitive enough to play. So there’s always going to be room in the league for small players.”

“In regards to the draft, the big, good players generally go ahead of the smaller, good players. It’s kind of the way it is. But after the draft, it really becomes irrelevant. So, I don’t think good players will ever be overlooked, regardless of their size.”
