from Kevin Allen of USA TODAY,
Here are eight predictions on what will occur Friday before and during the first round of the NHL draft:
1. Talbot will be dealt: The Edmonton Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, Dallas Stars and San Jose Sharks are among the teams that have interest in Henrik Lundqvist's backup.
The Rangers want a first-round pick in return because they believe he will start elsewhere. They may end up with a second-round pick and a prospect. In 58 career games as a backup, Talbot boasts a .931 save percentage.
2. Arizona will trade No. 3 pick: Word is the offers have been enticing, especially those coming from teams that can return the Coyotes a pick in the top 10.
The Columbus Blue Jackets are picking No. 8, and they are believed to be offering that pick, another pick and a player or two to Arizona.
Here is why the Coyotes have to consider making the deal: There is no true consensus on whom that No. 3 pick should be.
Defenseman Noah Hanifin is rated third, but the Coyotes have young Oliver Ekman-Larsson as their No. 1 defenseman and their offense is in more desperate need of help. The Coyotes could draft center Dylan Strome at No. 3. He's 6-3 and that would help the Coyotes measure up against the big centers in the Western Conference.
