OILERS ACQUIRE DEFENCEMAN ALEXANDER PETROVIC

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenceman Alexander Petrovic from the Florida Panthers in exchange for defenceman Chris Wideman and a conditional third round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Petrovic, 26, is in his fifth NHL season, and has appeared in 26 games this year for Florida, posting one assist, 24 penalty minutes and a -8 plus-minus rating.

A 6’4”, 216-pound defenceman, Petrovic has appeared in 254 NHL games over his career, posting 49 points (5G, 44A), 358 penalty minutes and a -3 plus-minus rating.

The native of Edmonton, AB was originally selected by Florida in the second round, 36th overall, at the 2010 NHL Draft.
