from Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe,
With 0.9 seconds left in overtime, and David Pastrnak opposing Anze Kopitar for a faceoff, most everyone in the building figured the night would be decided in a shootout. Bring on the shooters.
Uh, not so fast.
Instead, all of one half of one second later, after Kopitar undressed Pastrnak and pulled the puck toward the slot, Kings center Tyler Toffoli ripped home a screaming one-time slapper, handing the Kings a 2-1 victory and leaving a hometown crowd, and the entire Boston bench, in utter dismay.
“I didn’t see that one coming,” said Rask. “I didn’t see the shot . . . it’s tough . . . I was thinking of standing in the middle of the net, in case that happens. Would have been better off doing that, I guess. But, hey, always something new I guess.”
