Updated 3x with lies, lies and more lies at 3:52 PM: ia Puck the Media's Steve Lepore, the Canadian Press's Toronto bureau tossed off a predictable Twitter update regarding the state of negotiations between the NHL and NHLPA as we race toward 11:59 PM tonight:

BREAKING: The NHL says they will not hold any bargaining session with the NHLPA ahead of an 11:59 p.m. deadline.

Update: The Canadian Press's Chris Johnston confirms:

With just hours remaining on their collective bargaining agreement, deputy commissioner Bill Daly said that he didn’t expect any formal negotiations to take place before it expired at midnight on Saturday.
