The Golden Knights are four wins away from capturing the Stanley Cup in their inaugural season, but Las Vegas and Clark County officials are already making tentative plans for a celebration.
“I think this has to be a big, blowout celebration,” Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman said as the Golden Knights prepared to face the Washington Capitals at home on Monday for Game 1....
Clark County Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak said he’s already talked to Metro Police and the county’s Department of Public Works about a potential parade. The one group that doesn’t want to get ahead of things, however, is the Golden Knights, he said.
“The Golden Knights really don’t want to have this discussion; there’s some level of superstition involved,” Sisolak said. “They don’t want to jinx anything revolving around any celebrations regarding their playoff success.”
