from Kevin Allen of USA TODAY,
After shaking free of their scoring drought Saturday, the Detroit Red Wings (6-5-1) face two weeks that will tell them whether they have fully escaped their early-season slump.
On Tuesday, they have a home game against the Colorado Avalanche, a team that has the NHL’s best road record of 6-1-1. On Friday, they face an Edmonton Oilers team that boasts an 8-3-2 record and the league’s best goals-against average. On Saturday, they play the 9-3 Dallas Stars. Two days later, they leave on a road trip that will see them play four games in six nights against the St. Louis Blues, San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks.
