Ticket Tuesday: Blackhawks, Rangers Highlight Most Expensive Games On Secondary Market This Week

A slow start has not deterred the Chicago Blackhawks from generating a massive ticket demand on the secondary market, and the reigning Stanley Cup champions will again top this week’s most expensive games list when they host the Winnipeg Jets Sunday. The New York Rangers welcome two of this week’s top-priced games before hopping the East River to take on the Islanders in their first-ever battle in Brooklyn.

12/6/15 Chicago Blackhawks vs Winnipeg Jets | Avg. Price: $220.77 | Get-in: $81

The Blackhawks sit at 13-8-3 on the season, good enough for third place in the Central division. They own the most expensive secondary market ticket prices in the NHL this season, and there will be no exception when they take on the Jets at United Center Sunday. Blackhawks vs Jets tickets currently average $220.77 and the get-in price is $74.

Rangers vs Senators tickets own a secondary market average of $197.70 and the cheapest ticket is listed for $70. The game has continued to drop in price over the last several days, falling 10.1% from its peak average of $220.03 on November 22.

12/3/15 New York Rangers vs Colorado Avalanche | Avg. Price: $157.77 | Get-in: $70

The Rangers again appear on this week’s top games list for a game against the Colorado Avalanche Thursday. The average secondary market price for Rangers vs Avalanche tickets is now $157.77, down 12.7% from last Saturday’s average of $180.80. The cheapest ticket to the mid-week affair is $57. Take note, Rangers fans - it will be the least expensive game at Madison Square Garden this year.

12/2/15 New York Islanders vs New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $149.68 | Get-in: $69

The first-ever battle between the New York Islanders and Rangers in Brooklyn will commence Wednesday night and round out the week’s most expensive games. Islanders vs Rangers tickets average $149.68 and the get-in price is $69. It will be the fourth most expensive game remaining at Barclays Center this season, trumped only by games against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Toronto Maple Leafs and the second coming of the Rangers in January.
