from Mark Spector of Sportsnet,
It had to be done, and you’ve got to give the Winnipeg Jets credit: Not only did they take care of business Sunday night in St. Louis, they looked very much like they can win again on Tuesday.
The Jets put on a tour de force in Game 3, beating the Blues 6-3 in a game that wasn’t nearly as close as the score would suggest. They are right back in this Western Conference Round 1 series, trailing 2-1, with a chance to re-gain home ice advantage Tuesday night in Game 4.
On a Jets team that had experienced a rotating series of power outages down the stretch and early in the 2019 playoffs, all the fuses were switched to the ‘ON’ position for Game 3. Connor Hellebuyck was solid in goal, Patrik Laine scored again, they got depth goals from Brandon Tanev and Kevin Hayes, and Dustin Byfuglien notched his first goal (fifth point) of the series.
