from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
The mighty have fallen, and it was the Blues who knocked them off on Brayden Schenn’s breakaway goal with 59 seconds left in overtime of a scoreless game.
Winning a season-high fourth game in a row, the Blues have come out flying after their All-Star Game/bye break with road victories at Columbus, Florida and now Tampa Bay.
Give the Dad’s Trip contingent an assist for the wins against the Panthers and Lightning. The Blues are now 7-1 playing in front of their fathers, grandfathers, etc., over four Dad’s Trips.
“No reason not to bring ’em back next year,” said Schenn, who ended an 11-game goal-less streak with his 10th goal of the season.
“It’s pretty successful, isn’t it?” interim coach Craig Berube said of the Dad’s Trips. “They saw a great game tonight. It was pretty intense from the get-go and a very competitive game — both teams.”
Below, watch the game highlights from the Blues 1-0 OT win over the Lightning.
The Blues now hold the second wild card spot in the Western Conference.
