from Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal,
In about the length of time it takes to blow one’s nose, the Oilers turned what could have been a warm and fuzzy “Nurse scores” storyline and a gutsy rally from two goals down into another close L on the scorecard. Two goals by the Minnesota Wild in 43 seconds in the third period, and it’s another woe-is-us night for the Oilers.
They are proving to be consistently inconsistent this October.
Four losses to start. Three wins in a row. Now three straight losses.
It adds up to 3-7, and this loss was highly preventable.
It will not make for pretty viewing on tape Thursday when the team reconvenes for the Montreal Canadiens after a day off Wednesday to lick another open wound.
