The St. Louis Blues Take Game 1 Over The Dallas Stars

04/26/2019 at 7:44am EDT

from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatcn,

Vladimir Tarasenko didn't feel like expounding on his exploits in Thursday's 3-2 victory over the Dallas Stars.

"I don't want to talk about this," Tarasenko said. "It's just the first game. We have a lot of hockey to play. I don't think it's right to talk about your moments in the game. It's just Game 1 and we have a win — it's the most exciting thing."

True, going up 1-0 in their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series with the Stars was exciting for the Blues and the 18,014 watching at Enterprise Center.

But Tarasenko was responsible for some exciting things himself, particularly a power play goal late in the second period, and what proved to be the game-winner on mad dash to the net early in the third.

And despite his reticence to elaborate, there were plenty of others willing to talk up Tarasenko.

“He’s just so strong," Vince Dunn said. "When he gets a step on you, it’s hard to stop him."
