(Feb. 27, 2016) – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has acquired goaltender Anders Nilsson from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for goaltender Niklas Lundstrom and a 2016 5th round draft pick. Nilsson will be assigned to the Blues' American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

Nilsson, 25, has appeared in 26 games for the Oilers this season, posting a 10-12-2 record along with a 3.14 goals against average and a .901 save percentage. The 6'5, 229-pound goaltender was originally drafted by the New York Islanders in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. The Lulea, Sweden, native has dressed in 49 career regular season games between the Islanders and Oilers, accumulating a 19-21-4 record, a 3.10 goals against average, a .900 save percentage and one shutout.

Lundstrom, 23, was originally drafted by the Blues in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The 6'1, 194-pound goaltender has split this season between the East Coast Hockey League's (ECHL) Elmira Jackals and the Chicago Wolves. The Varmdo, Sweden, native has posted an 8-3-0 record in 13 appearances with the Jackals and a 1-1-0 record in four games with the Wolves.
