from David Haugh of the Chicago Tribune,
"Whatever happened in years before, they are not the same team,'' Crawford said.
They are a team that treated Sunday's third period of Game 3 like the Stanley Cup Final compared with the Hawks, who occasionally let their rich past remove the urgency from their present. Deep down, the Hawks might have let complacency creep in knowing that under coach Joel Quenneville they have a 43-14 record in playoff Games 4 through 7. The Hawks went to bed Sunday night knowing the last time they trailed 2-1 in a playoff series — last June to the Lightning — they ended up planning a parade. Meanwhile, the Blues dreamed of making their season with two more victories.
"This feels very much, emotionally, like a final,'' Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said.
The Hawks never would admit it, but to them it probably still feels very much like April. Perhaps the slight difference in interpretation can be found in the Blues' 2-1 series lead.
"We've got to get pissed off,'' Crawford said. "I think we are right now.''
