The Slumping New York Islanders

It’s not a crisis yet, but it’s certainly getting close.

The Islanders blew another game that was in their grasp, this one a 2-1 loss to the Sabres on Sunday night at Barclays Center that marked the third straight loss — adding a regulation defeat to previous overtime and shootout losses that have begun to blemish what was a promising start to their first year in Brooklyn.

“Some guys were too casual,” coach Jack Capuano said. “Sunday game, casual. You’re not going to win many games like that.”
