from Paul Friesen of the Winnipeg Sun,
There was plenty of extra buzz in the building and an extra bit of oomph with virtually every finished check.
It quickly became apparent more than the usual two points hung from Friday night’s tilt between the Jets and Nashville Predators.
By the end of the first period, bodies were flying, tempers flaring and new Predators banger Wayne Simmonds was issuing a warning to Jets’ agitator Brandon Tanev.
“I’ll find you,” Simmonds said, adding an F-bomb for emphasis, soon after Tanev had left the imprint of the Preds’ Kyle Turris in the boards in front of the Winnipeg bench.
In the same shift, the Jets’ Adam Lowry pasted the other new Nashville forward, Mikael Granlund.
Welcome to the Central Division’s best rivalry, fellas.
