from Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette,
Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was injured Monday.
How severe? Uncertain at this point. The same for whether it’s one injury or two or how long Crosby could potentially be out.
What we do know is this: The Penguins’ Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Capitals has changed, the only thing that’s to be determined is by how much.
Capitals defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk scored at 3:13 of overtime to produce a 3-2 Capitals win in Game 3 at PPG Paints Arena.
Sidney Crosby leaves the ice with trainer Chris Stewart after taking a hit in the first period of Game 3 at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh Monday night.
Had a Penguins player scored, a sweep would’ve seemed plausible. Now, the Capitals have life. Can the Penguins counter that with the return of their captain? We shall see.“We showed for parts of 50 minutes that we can play them without Sid,” Nick Bonino said. “Obviously we want him here, but if he’s not, we have to find ways to win. We almost did tonight.”
